Disaster , as defined by the World Health Organization, is the "sudden ecologic phenomenon of sufficient magnitude to require external assistance" . Disasters have destroyed humans' social and physical capital. These catastrophes derailed social and economic progress in that way this are formidable to circumvent. The full impacts of these cataclysm are not known but are probably significant to understand.
The Philippines has been abundant with volcanoes, mountains, and other geological features. However, Philippines is also prone to earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, landslides and floods. An earthquake is an activity that occurs within the structure of the Earth wherein there is shaking of the ground. This is due to the movement of the plates of the Earth's crust. According to National Geographic, the place where there are frequent earthquakes are within the Pacific Ring of Fire.
